  • Eligible Countries: All World Countries
  • Key Eligibility Criteria:
  • Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of the solution is 4 or above
  • Equity investment in the business is less than £500,000
  • Innovation is protectable, and the applicant owns or co-owns the IP
  • The applicant owns the highest equity stake in the company within the founding team
  • Applicant is, or has the ambition to be, the CEO or COO of the business
  • For startups: Applicant is not a student or otherwise employed during the program
  • For startups: Applicant has completed their first university degree by July 1, 2018
  • For spinouts: Applicant is currently employed by the university
  • If relevant, the PhD viva will be held no later than November 30, 2023

  • Applicants must first register on the official website.
  • Select the appropriate application form from the list of currently open programs.
  • The application process consists of two stages: Stage one and Stage two.
  • In Stage one, provide brief information about yourself and your idea.
  • If eligible, you will be invited to complete a Stage two application, which is more detailed.
  • Stage two application will require additional information about yourself, the team, the technology, and the business model.
  • Successful applicants will be invited to interview.
